SpaceX conducted a successful test of its Starship rocket system on Sunday, firing up the engines on its latest booster and testing a new water deluge system.

The test took place at SpaceX’s Starbase launch facility in Boca Chica, Texas. The engines on the Super Heavy booster ignited for 2.74 seconds, and the water deluge system sprayed upward from underneath Starship’s launch mount.

The test was a key milestone for SpaceX as it prepares for the next launch of its Starship rocket system. The company is aiming to send Starship to the Moon and Mars, and the test showed that the rocket is capable of generating the immense thrust needed for these missions.
